Claire Zambuni
Claire founded The River Summit in 2022 from her garden with a simple belief: the biggest environmental challenges require collaboration, not confrontation.
With 14 years of environmental communications experience, Claire has a unique talent for bringing unlikely allies together around shared goals. She closed her agency in 2025 to focus entirely on building The River Summit and Festival Charity into the UK's leading platform for cross-sector river collaboration.
Under Claire's leadership, The UK River Summit has grown from 30 people sharing lunch by a river to 350+ attendees at events where government ministers make policy announcements and major initiatives are discussed for the first time. Her approach of creating truly independent spaces for genuine dialogue has earned recognition across the water sector.
Claire's vision extends beyond events - she's building the permanent infrastructure where UK water policy gets shaped through collaboration. When she's not convening ministers with campaigners or water company CEOs with community groups, she can be found by rivers, always learning what they need from all of us working together.
