Introduction to the Testing the Waters Consortium
Our Mission
Together, we work to help secure the future of water through open collaboration for a lasting, sustainable impact.
Water can only be protected if it is properly understood. The Testing the Waters Consortium brings together citizen scientists, technology innovators, NGOs, regulators, landowners, and water companies to transform how the UK understands, monitors, and protects its water environment. We produce evidence, build consensus, and drive change. Independent and agile, we move quickly on what matters - whether that is shaping how Section 82 sensors are deployed, or creating the spaces where industry comes to listen to the people who know their rivers best. We are dedicated to giving every voice a seat at the table -from citizen scientists and landowners to communities and industry - in the decisions that shape our rivers. We exist because no single organisation can fix what only collective action can solve.
