BDQ Beer Co.

The River Festival in France is supported by some of the world's best outdoor brands, but it also recognises the importance of underpinning the event with local knowledge and products.

We were therefore thrilled that this year, for the second year running, local artisan brewers BDQ Beer Co. pledged their support for The River Festival.

BDQ Beer Co. was founded by Jayne and Paul Bayliss and is based in Puivert and Chalabre, France. The Brasserie du Quercorb was founded in 2012 in a former industrial garage in Puivert, Occitannie. Today it is better known as BDQ Beer Co., an avant-garde, contemporary brewery. In 2018, production moved to Chalabre to meet increasing demand. Although production capacity was significantly increased, it is modern technology and a desire for innovation that has enabled BDQ Beer Co. to produce highly superior beer.

BDQ Beer Co supported the initial River Festival with three Limited Edition Beers named after the rivers that converge in Chalabre; L'Hers, Le Blau, and Le Chalabreil. Each unique label is adorned with a vibrant design of locally renowned fishing flies.

This year, BDQ brewed a new blond beer specifically for The River Festival: Les Trois Rivières (The Three Rivers). These were sold throughout the local area and beyond in the run up to the event.

BDQ Beer Co's story is one of passion, commitment and energy. Each of the beers they produce has a multi-faceted story, but at the heart of the company is a desire to create a sense of community and care for the environment that these communities so heavily rely on. This is the very essence of the event that BDQ Beer Co enhances through its support.

Speaking about the event, Jayne Bayliss said, "As a company, we are passionate about producing high quality beer in an environmentally responsible way. Partnering with the River Festival fits perfectly with our values, putting Chalabre at the heart of environmental discussions and offering local people the opportunity to become stewards of our waterways and celebrate local natural resources. We are proud to support the event with bespoke editions of BDQ Beer Co. named after Chalabre's three rivers - L'Hers, Le Blau, Le Chalabreil."
